Vedic Astrology Views

Vedic Astrology, Jyotish, is the light, the Science of Consciousness. That is why we first recommend that you practice TM (tm.org) twice a day as you experience the source of pure Consciousness deep within, which is the very basis of the study of Jyotish, thus, practicing TM, is the principle of the highest first.

The purpose of Jyotish is “Heyam Dukham Anagatam” , Avert the danger that has not yet risen, avoid the suffering that is about to come.

Jyotish is based on the Laws of Physics, Action = Reaction, the Laws of Karma, "As you sow, so shall you reap", everything moves in a circle.

The basic premise of Jyotish is that everything is one's own Creation, good or Bad, the planets are just a reflection of what one has created in one’s past lives, one's past karma's. We are 100% responsible for everything that happens to us.

Maharishi explained that the ultimate purpose of any Jyotish reading or any other of Maharishi Vedic Sciences & Maharishi Ayurveda Therapies, like TM, Yoga Asanas, pranayama, Marma, Ayurveda, Vastu, healing sounds/mantras, yagyas, etc., is to be uplifting and help heal the soul, ultimately making the person remember (Smriti) and rediscover his/her true nature, which is Sat Chit Ananda, that Consciousness, which is Blissful. Jyotish should help the person develop higher states of Consciousness and ultimately reach the highest State of Bliss, which is the main goal of Life.

Various remedies to rediscover the Light within, Bliss, wholeness, health, healing and happiness and to ultimately realize that Life is Bliss, it was never meant to be suffering. You only suffer when you knowingly or unknowingly violate the Laws of Nature, the above techniques brings you back in tune with nature, with the laws of nature.

We regularly post videos and articles of many different Vedic Astrologers on the whatsapp forum.

Please note:

1. These are for your entertainment only.

2. No one astrologer will be 100% correct, but if they can come close to being 80% correct, they could provide useful information for you.

3. “No man ever steps in the same river twice. For it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.” Heraclitus. We are all eternal students, as all knowledge is structured in Consciousness, as we expand our awareness through meditation, etc, gaining knowledge is a never ending story.

4. The best way to learn anything is to be humble, innocent and receptive to learning.

As a wise saint once said, “You need to be as innocent as a child to reach the kingdom of Heaven (within)”

Understanding Planetary Characteristics in Vedic Astrology

1. Sign Placement of Planets: Own, Exalation, Debilitation, Friend/Enemy signs

2. Aspects and Associations (External Influence); Benefic and Malefic

3. House Placement (Field of Operation)

Houses 1, 4, 7, and 10 (Kendra Houses): Planets placed in these houses tend to give stronger and more visible results. These are the pillars of the chart (Lagna, career, home, relationships), so planets placed here have a significant impact on one’s life.

Houses 2, 5, 9, and 11 (Trikona and Upachaya Houses): Planets here generally yield positive results, especially in Trikona houses (1st, 5th, and 9th), which are known as houses of fortune. Benefic planets in these houses provide growth and expansion, while malefics in Upachaya houses (3rd, 6th, 10th, and 11th) may give delayed but eventually favorable outcomes.

Houses 6, 8, and 12 (Dushtana Houses): Planets placed here often face challenges and difficulties. These houses are associated with health issues, debts, losses, and transformation. Malefic planets in these houses may cause fewer problems, but benefic planets may struggle to give their positive results.

4. Lagna (Ascendant) and Its Importance:

  • Artha (Wealth, material well-being), 2, 6, 10 houses: If the Lagna is oriented toward Artha, the individual may be focused on achieving financial stability, security, and material success.
  • Dharma (Righteousness, duty), 1, 5, 9 houses: A Dharma-oriented Lagna encourages a focus on moral and ethical duties, spirituality, and fulfilling one’s purpose in life.
  • Kama (Desires, pleasure),  3, 7, 11 houses: A Lagna focused on Kama indicates a person who seeks fulfillment of desires, pleasure, and emotional satisfaction in life.
  • Moksha (Liberation, spiritual enlightenment), 4, 8 12 houses: A Moksha-oriented Lagna signals an individual whose ultimate goal is spiritual freedom and liberation from worldly attachments.

Joni Patry: How to Read an Astrology Chart in Minutes!:

1a. Ascendant, 1st house, the person's character, planets in Ascendant house, which sign and nakshatras in Ascendant, any aspects from other planets and house lordship.
1b. Whichever house, the planetary ruler of the 1st house goes to, the person's interest/focus/attention & Energy will be going to that house.

2a. Moon's sign and house, planets in Moon's house, which sign and nakshatras in Moon's house, any aspects from other planets and house lordship.
2b. Use Moon as Ascendant, Moon is how you feel, emotions and mother. Example if moon goes to the eighth house, then that means the mother struggled in life. absolutely there is no two ways about this.

3a. Sun's sign and house, planets in Sun's house, which sign and nakshatras in Sun's house, any aspects from other planets and house lordship. Example, if the Sun  is in the eighth house, there's going to be struggles with and for the father, definitely the eighth house is the house that can deal with difficulties so it deals with sometimes disgrace humiliation but it also has some very redeeming qualities such as psychic ability intuition research.

4.  Rahu & Ketu are Karmic Destiny Points:
4a. If rahu and ketu are in the 1st & 7th:  relationship issues that need to heal
4b. If rahu and ketu are in the 2nd & 8th: money and how you handle money and your feelings about wealth, your sense of self-worth and confidence, ability to be prosperous in life, you're working on finding yourself and your aspects of making money
4c. If rahu and ketu are in the 3rd & 9th:  issues about education, sibling relationships you're here to heal, issues of higher learning, getting an education this is important, issues around the father and siblings is the ninth and the third
4d. If rahu and ketu are in the 4th & 10th:  issues with your mother and your work, your career,  your home and family.
4e. If rahu and ketu are in the 5th & 11th: creativity, children, work out issues with your children, their families, eventually with their spouses and also something to do with friends (11th), organizing groups this is very important and this is what you've come here to do
4f. If rahu and ketu are in the 6th & 12th: service to others, helping others, health and healing, you came here to work on that and most of all letting go of the past past things that have hurt you and especially around the area  of your health and healing because if you hang on to things from the past, you have resentments and anger and fear you're  gonna get sick.

Rahu conjunct planets, it exaggerates: if you have any planet conjunct rahu, then that planet will be exaggerated and be to a point of excess, it's going to be a lot of energy there.
Rahu with the sun, excess around the dad rahu with the moon,  excess and extremes around emotion in the mother, mercury is the mind,  venus is  love and beauty, mars is energy and also brothers and sisters, jupiter will be the spirituality and saturn will be this power to be in control.

Ketu is the opposite (it contracts, renounces, losses):. ketu with the moon, you never feel like you get enough from the mother, with the sun you feel like there's a  loss  or something around the father.  venus there's loss around love, never being fulfilled, with mercury the mind goes deep within and it's very intuitive, with mars there's a loss around siblings and there's a loss around drive and ambition, with saturn there's a loss or sense of being in control, with jupiter there is a search and need for truth and spirituality

5. Look at each planet in the chart, look at what house it's in and look at what house it rules and planetary aspects. A planet takes with it the energy of the houses it rules and brings it to the house it's in. For example, Jupiter rules the ninth house in sagittarius, jupiter rules sagittarius, but the ruler of the ninth goes to the twelfth the house of  losses, the ninth house is the father, so that would be a feeling of the father  never being around.
